As is customary each year, music magazines across the globe gather around and form an arbitrary ranking of the best music released that year. Since music is largely a matter of taste, no magazine typically agrees, not necessarily even internally on what is the best album, the second best album, and so forth. So here at Rockfreaks.net we have always taken a different approach: we think it's far more important to try to capture all relevant albums from a given year of release that will have some significance a few years down the line...

William DuVall postpones European touring plans again

As expected, Alice In Chains frontman William DuVall has been forced to move his solo European touring plans once again, this time to the autumn.


This of course affects the two Danish concerts that were supposed to take place at Dexter in Odense on March 29th and at Hotel Cecil in Copenhagen on March 31st.


The Copenhagen show will now take place on October 09th and all tickets that have already been purchased remain valid for the new date. There are also more available here for 220 DKK (+ fees), with more information found in the official Facebook event.


The Odense gig has been rebooked for October 10th and already bought tickets remain valid for it as well. There are also more available here for 225 DKK (+ fees), and further details can likewise be found in the official Facebook event.

DuVall released his début album “One Alone” in 2019 and you can watch footage of him performing the track “Smoke and Mirrors” from it live at the Holly Lane Studios below.


Teenage Fanclub debuts new single: "I'm More Inclined"

Teenage Fanclub have debuted a new song called “I’m More Inclined”, which you can listen to below. It is part of the Bellshill, United Kingdom-resident alternative rock / power pop ensemble’s forthcoming album “Endless Arcade”, which will drop via Merge Records on March 05th.


The group will play a twice postponed show at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen on April 25th, 2022, and there are still tickets available for it here for 295 DKK (+ fees). More information can be found in the official Facebook event.

Genghis Tron announces new album: "Dream Weapon"

Poughkeepsie, NY-based experimental metal band Genghis Tron have set March 26th as the official release date for their long-awaited new album “Dream Weapon”. The effort is their first since 2008’s “Board Up the House” and consists of the following tracks:

Mono postpones European tour with A.A.Williams to 2022

Tokyo, Japan’s shoegaze / post-rock icons Mono have expectedly postponed their upcoming European tour with A.A.Williams so that it will now happen in 2022 instead.


That of course includes the concert at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen that was supposed to take place on March 20th; it has been rescheduled for February 12th next year instead. If you already have a ticket, it remains valid for the new date and if not, there are more available for purchase here for 200 DKK (+ fees). Further information can be found in the official Facebook event.

Boston, MA’s ska-punk veterans The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have debuted a new song called “The Final Parade” and it comes with a lyric video, which you can watch below. The track marks the group’s signing with Hellcat Records and, at nearly 8 minutes, it reminisces about their ups and downs and the history of ska, and features guest appearances from a number of important musicians from the genre.

Northlane cancels summer European touring plans

Sydney, Australia’s metalcore troop Northlane have decided to cancel all of their European summer touring plans, including their performance at this year’s edition of Copenhell in Denmark due to continuing uncertainty related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the group will focus on playing shows in their home country this year.


The band released a new song called “Enemy of the Night” last year (a b-side recorded during the sessions for their 2019 album “Alien”) and in case you missed it then, you can listen to it below.


Teenage Fanclub's Copenhagen show postponed to April 2022

Bellshill, United Kingdom’s alternative rock / power pop ensemble Teenage Fanclub have once again been forced to postpone their European touring plans — this time to 2022.

The Haunted announce headlining Malmö show in September

Gothenburg, Sweden-born death / thrash metal unit The Haunted have lined up a handful of domestic appearances in the autumn, among them a concert at Plan B in Malmö on September 24th, which may of interest to Copenhagen-based fans. More information about that show is still pending, but stay tuned for an update in the coming days.


The Haunted released their latest album “Strength in Numbers” through Century Media in 2017 and you can watch the official music video for the track “Preachers of Death” from it below.


The Deadnotes' upcoming concert at Underwerket postponed to December

Freiburg, Germany-based punk rock outfit The Deadnotes have postponed their upcoming European touring plans to later this year, and that includes the concert we at Rockfreaks.net had booked for Underwerket in Valby on February 27th.


That show will now take place on December 04th instead and if you have already bought at ticket, it remains valid for the new date as well, or if you wish to get it refunded, you should get in touch with us via our Facebook page. There are still more tickets available for purchase here for 80 DKK (+ fees), while more information can be found in the official Facebook event.

Hexis to play headlining show at Stairway in March

Copenhagen, Denmark’s black metal and hardcore punk fusionists Hexis will play live at Stairway in Vanløse on March 06th, with support from Telos and TRWLR.


There are only a few tickets left for the show, so act fast and buy one here for 87 DKK. Additional details can be found in the official Facebook event.


Hexis recently signed a worldwide record deal with Debemur Morti Productions and will release their third studio album through the label later this year, with more details still pending. The Love Coffin announces headlining show at Stairway in April

Copenhagen, Denmark-based post-punk outfit The Love Coffin have announced a headlining concert at Stairway in the Vanløse district of their hometown on April 30th.


Tickets cost 127 DKK a piece and can be purchased from the venue’s website, while more information is available in the official Facebook event.


The Love Coffin released their latest album “Second Skin” through Bad Afro Records last year and you can watch the official music video for the song “Stripped Down” from it below.
