Hefty Fine

The Bloodhound Gang is burning motherf*ckers again with their newest album "Hefty Fine", and their level of humour has gone into stupidity beyond belief. How can anyone seriously enjoy listening to a song, whose each and every line is a different metaphor for penetrating a woman ("Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo")? What about the disgusting intermission "Diarrhea Runs In The Family", where they've recorded an answer phone message while having diarrhea in the bathroom? Piss-shit jokes are common in the primary school, and a sensible adult will not find Bloodhound Gang funny.

Now that i've gotten past preaching about the immaturity of this album, which I must admit is the trademark of The Bloodhound Gang, it is time to get down and analyze the album. If you haven't been able to avoid the single "Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo", you will already have noticed that the new album has a much more alt rock/chill rock feel to it than the older albums. The production level has increased, clearing out the raw sound the band used to have in songs like "Fire Water Burn" and "Mope". There are very few tracks that immediately stand out ? la "The Ballad Of Chasey Lane" or "Fire Water Burn", but on the first listen, it is imminently clear that "Ralph Wiggum", "Farting With A Walkman On" and "Pennsylvania" are the ones that will impact radio stations in the near future.

On the other hand, the album has some incredibly bad tracks, that shouldn't have made it onto the album in the first place, like the annoying techno-style song "Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss Uhn Tiss", or the hip-hop influenced track "Balls Out" that makes me want to skip the track after the first five seconds. In fact, I didn't know it was possible to make music this displeasing to the ears!

Unfortunately, the many bad tracks on the album leave a dark shadow over the few excellent ones, leaving the listener unimpressed. Plus, the incredibly bad humour will annoy everyone who didn't get stuck on the primary school fart-joke level.
