Enemies Swe

Behind Enemy Lines

Enemies Swe's "Behind Enemy Lines" follows closely in the footsteps of the 70s & 80s Rock N Roll legends. Think of Guns N' Roses meets AC/DC and Velvet Revolver, and Enemies Swe would be the offspring of the three.

The Mot?rhead style 'we don't give a fuck' attitude of all big classic rock stars shines through their songs, and especially AC/DC-style 'oi, oi, oi's combined with the raw, early Aerosmith-esque sound in "Glam Star Cabaret" points towards the groupie-plagued lifestyle of the late 70s and 80s.

"Powertrain" introduces the album with its good ol' rock n roll with its 4-line verses followed by a bridge, an infectiously catchy chorus, and a Slash-style guitar solo, something you'll find present on nearly every song on the record. "Enemy", the best song on the album, continues on the same highway to hell, and the finishing track "RocknRoll School" does exactly what the name suggests; teaches us to "stay cool".

Essentially, Enemies Swe's "Behind Enemy Lines" would be a logical follow up to "Use Your Illusion II", if the band was Guns N' Roses. This is music meant to be played on Arenas, and I find it more than difficult to imagine what they would look like in a 200 capacity venue. Too bad they are a decade or two late, because otherwise their album would find great success worldwide.
