Reel Big Fish

We´re Not Happy ´Til You´re Not Happy

Reel Big Fish's newest album doesn't quite fulfil the big expectations left behind by the previous two albums. The new album sounds..too produced, and it's lacking the 'joy'-sound the previous albums had. It's a difficult listen if you're used to the old Reel Big Fish classics like "Dateless Losers" or "Beer". "Talkin' Bout A Revolution" is almost reggae-like, while songs like "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful" or "Story Of My Life" shouldn't really be on the album at all. But don't be mistaken, the hardcore Reel Big Fish fan will find her "Beer" on this album: "The Fire", "Drinkin'" and "Don't Start A Band" are catchy, witty and reminiscent of the old Fish.

Overall, the new album has a mainstreamish feel to it. Songs like "The Bad Guy" sound just like Goldfinger's new stuff, a factor which turned many of their fans against them! I don't know about you guys, but I expected a lot more from Fish than what they delivered.
