Oasis

Don´t Believe The Truth

Year after year, album after album, Oasis has proven all of their critics wrong by composing albums containing the working pop rock recipe of the Gallagher brothers. But perhaps this album is the last stop for Noel and Liam? This album doesn't have a "Wonderwall" or an "All Around The World" or "Who Feels Love?". It doesn't even have a "Go Let It Out". Simply put, this album only contains one or two songs worth mentioning at all, and only one of them is bound to become an Oasis classic, and that is the single "Lyla". Although it's not hitting the bullseye, it's definitely just outside of it. But the rest of the songs on the album seem to be mediocre at their best, with some Beatles style rock songs like "The Importance Of Being Idle" or "Guess God Thinks I'm Abel" that belong to the 60s and 70s rather than the new millenium. This album is missing the song writing talent that the Gallagher brothers mastered so well during the mid- and late 90s. The songs just aren't memorable enough, and catchy enough.
