Every now and then I stumble upon a band that finds inspiration in the skies above. Some of you may say it's easy and I will not disagree with you. That being as it may, the universe as a whole has a lot to uncover and even if a musician's imagination doesn't have a scientific background to prove his/her findings, it is still able to produce something beautiful worthy of being listened to over and over again. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Caves of Steel.

More than a year after its release, I manage to bring you ”Troposphere Magnetosphere”. It has been blowing my mind for the past three months. Because of the abundance of emotional content, I will advise all of you to take your time with the record. If you do, I promise you won't regret the time spared. A couple of listens to “consume” the content of this “spacy” music will definitely make you dream in colors.

Yup, ”Troposphere Magnetosphere” is a gentle mix of something very tender that shines bright in the night and moves with the speed of light. The four-piece band from Oslo, Norway has made a genuine post-rock mix that, to me, sounds like rock meets Devin Townsend Project's “Ki” and Tool's “10000 Days”. This is the closest comparison that I can make in order to give you a hint on what the record sounds like. With the exception of a few key moments Caves of Steel rely mainly on instrumentals that seem to be perfectly arranged even without the use of words. The mesmerizing airy guitars that echo in the darkness, the moody bass and the crafty drum parts establish a firm base for every listeners imagination. Then they set it free...

I would have said more about this record but in my mind it is a disgrace to ruin your experience by sharing too much of my own vision. Dream on!
