A Favor For A Stranger

Hey everyone, it's time to get your groove on and put them dancing shoes on. This next band has wrapped a package that delivers a lot of excitement and emotion. I'm talking about Circle of Reason and their EP ”A Favor For A Stranger”. It exposes the listener to a rather short – 3 songs long – but clear and straightforward trip to the Seattle nights were grunge and rock meant so much.

Yup, the simplistic riffage, the groovy beats, the catchy, infectious, singalong-friendly chorus – it's all at hand. And to a person ready to have a great time that's all you need. Really, there's not that much that can be said seeing as the songs pass through your mind and ears rather fast. All in all a person listening to the EP gets a positive friendly feeling (which coincides exactly with the title of the release). I'd also imagine that the chorus part of “Silver Scene” would fit nicely for a modern sitcom. Of course, we could always argue about the lack of innovation or quality of recording of Circle of Reason's music. That, however, will not be the case here because the band will surely mature as they augment their repertoire, which means they'll hopefully get rid of such problems.

”A Favor For A Stranger” is a step towards a further refined take on the grunge and rock genres. Although it doesn't bring anything extravagant to the table, it provides a breath of fresh air to the genre and to the scene in general. And even if you don't think that you'll be playing the EP over and over again, I'm sure that from here on you'll be hearing more from Circle of Reason.
