Bridges/Streetlights EP

Such Gold fans heads up. Here's a band from Olympia, Washington, whose soundscapes rely on similarly awesome explosions of pure energy and catchy vocal lines that almost break out into screaming from time to time. Breakneck pace melodies, a secret love affair with Set Your Goal and With The Punches, and a shit ton of energy is what their four-track EP "Bridges/Streetlights" comprises, each track irresistibly catchy due to the dynamic between the bright instrumentation and the aggressive clean vocal delivery.

Opener "Sunburnt" wastes no time in introductions and launches immediately into fiery screams, bright instrumentation, and upbeat delivery that impresses on first listen. "Camellia" takes a slightly more restrained approach, building its melody lines first before the vocals take over and bring the expression over to the easycore/pop hardcore platform that the whole record is built around. "Grey" is another instantly catchy piece that upholds the insane tempo and vocals that alternate between clean and roughened semi-screams, before "Heisenburg" gives us yet another reminder why Such Gold, and therefore by extension this band, are awesome. Four tracks are way too few for this release, here's to a monumental debut album that's surely in the works behind the scenes.
