Our Last Night celebrated their 10-year anniversary at The Garage in Islington recently with the support from Our Hollow Our Home and Defences. With queuing starting hours before the doors had even opened, you could sense that this was going to be a good night. The excitement outside was infectious, and backstage nerves and adrenaline were running high.

Defences

Defences kicked things off with vocalist Cherry Duesbury showing off her vocal ability/ Despite missing the notes at some parts and falling flat at others, it was still an impressive starting performance. If you can imagine a much smaller, heavier version of Paramore, then you know what to expect with Defences.

Our Hollow Our Home

Next to tear up the stage was Southampton band Our Hollow Our Home. These guys weren't just there to turn up and perform; they were there to make a long-lasting impression and boy did they. Their stage presence was fearsome with Vocalist Connor Halliseys' vocals ripping through the set providing and overwhelmingly brutal sound. The band's performance was tight and in many a person's opinion the best they had ever played. Despite their music being far heavier than the two other bands the crowd responded incredibly well, singing along and creating many a circle pit. The word afterwards was that they had indeed made a lasting impact on the happy, overly sweaty revellers.

Our Last Night

Hailing all the way from New Hampshire, headliners Our Last Night finally took to the stage and the whole room went wild. Screaming and squealing practically drowned out singers Trevor and Matt's vocals. The bands broad smiles reflected their thanks and appreciation to all the fans that came out to see them. Upon playing fan favourites 'I've Never Felt This Way' and 'Same Old War' the room swelled with excitement and cheering as their performance went from strength to strength. The upbeat nature and energy from their album translated perfectly into their on stage presence and I was left wanting to see them even more.
