The participating bands for this year's W:O:A Metal Battle have been selected. The battle consists of two preliminary rounds taking place at Studenterhuset in Aalborg and Gimle in Roskilde on April 2nd and 9th, respectively, as well as a grand final at Godset in Kolding on April 16th.

Two bands from each preliminary round will be chosen by the jury to go on to the final, while a fifth band will be selected with an online vote (more info later on this). The winning band at the grand final will be awarded the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Wacken Open Air metal festival, which takes place August 4-6 in Wacken, Germany, as part of an international battle of the bands there.

The preliminary "Jydsk" round on April 2nd will feature the following bands:
