MPA goes even further

A few days ago our writer MS (mokka) reported that the MPA was shutting down online guitar tablature sites. Now the association has gone even further:

Steve Kowalski is a 53 year old ordinary man, who owns a guitar shop in the UK. According to the report he had been demonstrating how the different guitars sound like to potential buyers by playing known riffs from world famous songs. MPA figured out that this is a violation of the copyright laws and asked Mr. Kowalski to pay £114 as penalties, as the demonstrations "constituted as a public performance", and the MPA stated: "Royalties are crucial – they keep songwriters and musicians writing more music. And royalties are paid by everyone that plays music in public."
