New music festival in Odense, sources say 'rock festival'

At a press conference scheduled for 10am tomorrow, Tinderbox Festival will be announced by Odense & Co, a brand new three day music festival in Fyn to take place between June 25th and 28th - the weekend right between Copenhell and Roskilde Festival.

The event coordinator and responsible for music programme is none other than Ronnie Hansen, whom we remember as being the CEO behind Pumpehuset, which has housed a number of solid rock names over the years.

Odense & Co is a new partnership between Odense municipality, private businesses, and public institutions with a five year budget of 100 million DKK. According to BT's sources, this doesn't mean the booking budget is at 20 million DKK per year, though.

Also involved is rumoured to be NorthSide Festival director Brian Nielsen, suggesting some kind of cooperation between the festivals exists especially considering their close proximity to each other both geographically and in terms of the dates. The website, tinderboxfestival.dk (not online as of this writing), has been registered by Skandinavian Music Booking, which should give you a hint about what sort of musical offering we'll be looking at. Among their roster we have typical NorthSide Festival style artists within indie rock and electronic music, so those looking for a Download and/or Reading/Leeds style lineup are likely to be disappointed.

We'll follow up closely in the coming days as more information becomes available.
