Finnish purveyors of melodic death metal Insomnium will release a new album titled ”Winter’s Gate” on September 23rd. The Dan Swanö-produced outing is based around a short story written by vocalist / bassist Niilo Sevänen, and consists of just one 40-minute song. According to the press release, the story is ”about a group of Vikings who set out to find a fabled island west of Ireland, despite the treacherous winter drawing near.”, and will be featured as a book with illustrations by Teemu Tähkänen that will accompany the album.
