Triptykon & Metropole Orkest to perform "Requiem" at Roadburn 2019

Posted by AP on 02/11/18

True to tradition, Roadburn Festival will host a number of specially commissioned exclusive performances at its 2019 edition, and the first one of these has just been confirmed.

Triptykon will team up with the Dutch Metropole Orkest and bandmaster Florian Magnus Maier for “Requiem” — a three-part orchestral piece comprising “Rex Irae” off Celtic Frost’s 1987 album “Into the Pandemonium”, “Winter” off 2006’s “Monotheist”, as well as the previously incomplete second part, “Grave Eternal”.

In frontman Tom G. Warrior’s own words:

The three parts of the Requiem will be performed by Triptykon at Roadburn 2019, with full classical orchestration, congregated specifically for this occasion by Florian Magnus Maier, who is our esteemed classical collaborator and arranger in this project, and whose patience with me appears to be limitless. We feel very proud and deeply honoured to be joined in this endeavour by the renowned Dutch Metropole Orkest.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now over at this location, while more information can be found in the official Facebook event.
