Judas Priest, Korn & more confirmed for Copenhell 2020

Copenhell, which will take place between June 17th and June 20th at Refshaleøen in Copenhagen, has made the first big artist announcement for its 2020 edition, with 14 bands joining the already confirmed legends in Mercyful Fate.

The new batch includes three artists in the headliner department: the heavy metal legends Judas Priest, who will be hoping to resurrect the majesty of their concert on the Helvíti stage in 2011; the alternative metal icons Disturbed making their début at the festival; and the founding fathers of nu metal Korn, who likewise played in 2011, but now have a brand new album in “The Nothing” to promote.

In somewhat smaller text on the bill, yet of no less legendary status, we have the Norwegian progressive black metal titans Emperor, who have been one of the most wished artists among the Copenhell regulars for many years now. Furthermore in the veteran extreme metal department, the Britons in Benediction are certain to make heads bang with the mid-tempo death metal they have been producing for 30 years now.

Moving down the font sizes, the festival has secured the services of both Of Mice & Men and Jinjer in order to satisfy the metalcore segment, while Destruction, High Command and Xenoblight will be there to ensure that no thrasher’s neck will be spared whiplash. If black and doom metal are more up your alley, then look no further than ORM, Vreid and Crypt Sermon.

And finally, in charge of whipping up a festive atmosphere, there is Alestorm frontman Christopher Bowes’ other project Gloryhammer, whose brand of ‘intergalactic power metal’ is sure to be a topic of division and discussion on social media.

To recap then, here’s how today’s line-up release pans out:
