Highly promising UK screamo outfit Penknifelovelife has split up, because their singer has left the band because of religion. Statement below:

So far from being keen! Basically we're no longer a band, what happened was as im sure alot of you already knew, Ross left to go live in america last year in november, if my not so reliable memory serves me correctly, and then had to return because one can only stay in america for 3 months without a visa or gaining citizenship. So he came back and he said he would rejoin the band. We didnt have much luck finding a new singer so we agreed to him rejoining. We went on tour had a great time and we thought everything was moving in the right direction, until - and this is no exaggeration or joke - Ross went to church one sunday with a friend and when driving back he began to cry and said God told him he wanted him in LA and would have to quit penknifelovelife ect. I personally think thats the most ridiculous and hilarious thing i've ever heard, im sure you'll all make your own minds up. The disapointing thing about all of this is that i feel he used us for the few months he rejoined and effectively lied to us for the entirety of his rejoining. What's more disturbing is that he is using his 'faith' as an excuse and is now planning to make money out of it. I missed the part where being Christian was a fashion statement, but i ate 100 tats and what do i know?

Im sure the remaining non-believers in this band will carry on creating music either together or with other bands so please be sure to check whatever happens out.

Also thank you to anyone who supported this band in anyway, coming to shows buying a shirt, letting us stay at your house and all the friends we made. It was fun!
