Interesting research from Professor North of Heriot-Watt University has been released tying in personality types to genres of music. This BBC News article includes a run-down on some of the most popular genres, including stating that rock/heavy metal fans tend to feature a combination of "low self-esteem, creative, not hard-working, not outgoing, gentle and at ease" personality traits.

Perhaps more interestingly is the connection found between Metal and Classical fans, something I myself find interesting with the two being my no.1 and 2 most enjoyable genres of music, if it possible to say such a thing. Let me know your opinions on these findings!
